Theatre School Autumn Term Dates Phoenix Theatre School classes start on the following dates for the Autumn term: Saffron Walden - Monday 6th September Bishop’s Stortford - Wednesday 8th September Harlow - Saturday 11th September Class times and venues remain the same for all locations. Phoenix students gain places in the National Youth Theatre No less than 3 Phoenix Senior students have gained places at the prestigious National Youth Theatre. Teddy Pope, Zach Martin and Max Jones will all be off to the University of Northampton for two weeks in early August to train with other talented young performers from all over the UK. Change of Day at Saffron Walden Theatre School From next week our theatre school in Saffron Walden will now take place on Monday nights, moving from Wednesday nights. All class times and the venue will remain the same. We are also welcoming a new teaching team, Nick Delvalle, who trained at Bristol Old Vic Drama School, achieving a BA in Professional Acting, will be leading the class from next week. New Venue for Primary Students in Bishop’s Stortford We have some exciting news for the primary section of our theatre school in Bishop’s Stortford. The school is moving to a new venue from this Wednesday (28th April 2021). The school will be moving to All Saints Primary School on Parsonage Lane in Bishop’s Stortford with all classes held at the same time. The new venue is a stones throw from our Intermediate and Senior classes, held at Birchwood High School, located on the same road. We are delighted to announce that following the latest announcements from the government regarding the Coronavirus Lockdown we have been given the green light to return to classes in person at all our theatre school venues from 12th April. From Wednesday 14th April classes will return at the same times in Bishop’s Stortford and Saffron Walden. From Saturday 17th April our classes in Harlow will return. All returns to venues will depend on reaching stage 2 of the government’s plans to ease lockdown.
Following the Government’s movement of all our current branch regions (Bishop’s Stortford, Harlow, and Saffron Walden) into Tier 4 all branches we will not be able to hold physical classes. Our theatre school is only permitted to run in this way when in tiers 1 – 3. All classes will revert to online classes via Zoom until the restrictions are lifted.
