Phoenix graduate George Jack this week starts a new journey towards a career in acting. George, 21, begins his studies on the Foundation Course in Acting at The Oxford School of Drama.

George is one of our longest standing theatre school students, having been with us since he was four years old. Since graduating from Phoenix in 2016, George has continued to work with Phoenix as one of our assistant tutors in our primary and intermediate sections of the school.

George has appeared in many of our productions, including showcases, musicals, and pantomimes. George played an Ugly Sister in Cinderella at the Rhodes (pictured), 2016 and, as an understudy in our 2017 production of Snow White, he was called on to step into the lead role of Muddles for the majority of the run due to the injury of his fellow cast member.

George also took the part of Belle’s Dad in 2018’s Beauty and the Beast and was the Musical Director for our 2018 production of Bugsy Malone. George has shown huge determination and drive on his audition journey and we are thrilled that his efforts have paid off. Always a huge supporter of everything we do and a much-valued member of the Phoenix family, we will miss George and wish him every success at Oxford. Well done George, we are proud of you!
